How we designed Season Eight.

BEHIND THE SCENES

We design in a way that appeals to our senses, based on themes that truly interest us. We want to tell stories with our artwork. With our design. With our words. And, ultimately, with our kit. Whether it’s nature or street art, our Limited Release ranges of the past have been based on themes that are truly important in our lives. Season Eight is the same.

An homage to Landscapes, Season Eight explores the moments that inspire us, that get us out of bed in the morning, or out after a hard day at work, and onto the bike. Each design is based on a photograph we have taken. Whether it is the sunrise of the Topanga Mountains in Los Angeles, or the sunset over Daydream Island in Australia. The waves from our hometown of the Gold Coast, or the alpine flowers that line the roads of Swiss ascents.

Paying tribute to the timeless and tactile medium of print, we have then used the power of dots, alternating in size and space, to simulate the natural gradient and colour of each photograph – transporting you back to a similar moment in time, that like us, you have witnessed. Pretty cool, huh? We think so.

The rolling ocean is our greatest metaphor. It’s beauty is timeless. Majestic, powerful and chaotic.

This is a good day. It’s 7am, the morning light has crested and you are met with monochromatic blue mountain steps that only this very canyon possesses.

As you pass through fields, as you venture over borders, life changes. But there remains one consistency – the flower. Its leaves. Its smell. Its touch. You are a long way from home yet comforted by this symbol of its beauty.

Daydream dave.

The blistering heat of the day has disappeared, but the heat from the sun warms your skin. This is is not a daydream. This is life, the way we like to live it.
