Exploring new territories. And new terrains is something that tugs at the wandering minds of every cyclist we know. Whether it be the high mountains of the French Alps, the cobbled lowlands of Holland and Belgium or the stunning lakeside loops of Italy that lure you, exploration and adventure are at the heart of why we, at Black Sheep, love riding our bikes. That, and the beers when we finish.
Merino jerseys so soft you'll want to go to bed with them. And a brand new bib and brace that's like putting a pillow under your posterior. Comfy!
That same principle is also true when developing new garment designs (the exploration part, not the beers). To make groundbreaking pedal strokes forward, we have to look to new horizons for innovation and comfort. Guided by this belief, we took to the beautiful Lombardy region of Northern Italy to produce our very first all Italian collection. So good, it took us a year to make. Euro Collection | Naturals heroes natural fabrics. Merino jerseys so soft you'll want to go to bed with them. And a brand new bib and brace that's like putting a pillow under your posterior. Comfy!
This range could not be more Italian if ate pasta and gesticulated with its hands.
Born from Merino wool sourced in the rolling hills of New Zealand, this range had its fabric spun in an Italian mill, the garments were made in our Italian factory and tested by Italian riders – our friends at Sartoria Ciclistica. We then journeyed to Il Bel Paese (the beautiful country) to photograph 'Naturals' a stone's throw from where it was created, around the jaw-dropping feat of nature, and home of our man crush George Clooney, Lago di Como. The collection was captured by none other than Italian photographer, Chiara Redaschi. This range could not be more Italian if ate pasta and gesticulated with its hands.
The updated Euro Collection features brand new garments designed to respond to the changing temperatures. Like the creepy guy at the office, hot and cold weather changes are an all too familiar occurrence for cyclists the world over. And something abundantly evident on our weekend in Lake Como. Quattro stagioni is apparently not just the name of an ingredient-laden pizza. It's a weather pattern for Spring in Italy. Remarkably, we saw rain on Friday, snow on Saturday, bright sunshine on Easter Sunday and everything in between. But the beauty of these all-new ultralight Merino jerseys (something we're modestly calling our best jersey ever) is that they can cope with radical shifts in climate and help to regulate body temperature and transfer moisture away from the skin on both boiling hot and freezing cold days. This is truly for your all day. Your everyday.
While the re-imagined Euro Collection heroes the Merino jersey in six trans-seasonal colourways for men and women, the range also encompasses a brand new bib and brace, benefitting from The Perfect Pad, as well as Italian-milled socks and accessories.
This collection is a big thing for Black Sheep. – John Polson, Black Sheep Co-Founder
"This collection is a big thing for Black Sheep," says co-founder and head designer, John Polson. "Not only does it show that we can make clothes relevant for all day and all seasons. But we're hoping that it will lay the foundations for the future of the brand; to make innovative products like the Euro Collection | Naturals core to what we do, and to continue exploring. And drinking beer."
