THE PERFECT END.

There was no more perfect ending to Black Sheep | Stinner Racing's inaugural year than the Shimano Supercrit run by St Kilda CC. For a team comprised of full-time professionals and part-time dads, they have exceeded all expectations. Countless podiums in some of Australia's most iconic races, and who can forget, smashing through our epic The Man Ride. In a year that saw many of Australia's Elite races and teams struggle to meet their own self-proclaimed high expectations, the Men of Steel have been a welcome success story – proving that steel can sit shoulder to shoulder with carbon. And look better too!

For this year’s Supercrit, the Men of Steel joined forces with 2013 Herald Sun Tour winner Calvin Watson. One of Australia's brightest talents jumping on board the pain train. Well, maybe it was the other way around, but hey. The boys managed to dodge the inevitable crashes and the persistent yet futile attacks to all finish well up in the main bunch. The boys had no expectations other than to have a few digs and a few laughs. What an incredible platform to launch the truly exciting developments we have in store for Black Sheep | Stinner Racing in 2017.

Thanks to Korupt Vision for capturing the 2016 Shimano Supercrit on behalf of Black Sheep.

"The atmosphere at the Supercrit is like no other race in Australia. Rubbing shoulders and handlebars with world tour pros at breakneck speed is rad." Lachlan Davidson, Men of Steel Team Rider.

"Turns out it's pretty hard to attack when the bunch is already doing 50km/h." Sam Gifford, Men of Steel Road Captain.

"Racing is all about your confidence at a given point. You could be flying but crashes all around you can shake that confidence. This was one of those days!" Dan Pickering, Men of Steel Team Rider.
"I think I'm ready for the world tour now." Nick Squilari, Men of Steel Super Sub.

"Sure Dad. Sure." Lucy Gifford. Sam's Boss.
